Alexi Murdoch原籍苏格兰，在唱了多年的英式民谣之后，于90年代末期移居洛杉矶，开始受到Indie和Lo-Fi等音乐元素的影响。由于不愿破坏自己特有的曲风，他最初只是在小型的音乐聚会上演唱。直到2003年九月，他的演出通过洛杉矶一家电台播出，他那温柔、迟疑的嗓音和轻描淡写般的吉他在听众中造成了巨大的反响。2004年，他在Sundance电影节上演唱Orange Sky，令在场观众潸然泪下。
这张Time Without Consequence是他录制的第一张大碟，之前仅有过一张EP，名字也很直率：Four Songs
第一次听到Orange Sky，是在《越狱》中Michael将被转送的那场戏。这首描写手足之情的歌用在这里实在太合适了：Michael和Lincoln隔着铁丝网互相对视，只听着Alexi一遍遍地哼着In your love, my salvation lies in your love，道尽了兄弟俩那种无奈和凄凉。
