<P align=center><BR>　　琵琶：弹拨乐器，初名批把，推手为批，引手为把，所以是以弹拨方法而得名。在秦代劳动人民创造出一种直柄、圆形音箱、竖抱弹奏的弹拨乐器，名为“弦鼓”。到汉代定型为四弦十二品位、用手弹奏的乐器，称琵琶。公元四世纪，随着西域与中原的文化交流，有一种半梨形音箱、曲项、四弦四柱，横置胸前用手或用拨弹奏的琵琶和五弦琵琶传入内地。唐宋以来，在这两种琵琶的基础上不断改进，形成半梨形音箱、以薄桐木板蒙面、琴项向后弯曲、琴杆与琴面上设四相九至二三品、四弦的琵琶，用手或义甲弹拨（亦有仍用拨子弹奏的）。它的演奏技法逐渐发展和丰富，成为既能独奏，又能伴奏和参加合奏的重要民族乐器。</STRONG></FONT></P>
