来自于非洲加纳的NANA出身于一个富有的家庭，但是父亲在他小时候离他们而去，母亲带着年幼的NANA定居到了德国。肤色的歧视，家庭的破碎，使得NANA从小就在压抑的环境中生存。这首LONELY是他最有名的作品，也是最感人的作品之一。在这首歌曲中，爱情的失败，世事的的无奈，人与人之间的勾心斗角，都被他赤裸裸的展露在你面前。动情处的伤心呐喊，颓废时的无奈低吟，节奏布鲁斯，跳舞音乐，HIP HOP结合的天衣无缝。
Nana出生于1968年10月5日的非洲加纳。十岁的时候他跟随他母亲、3个兄弟姐妹一起去了德国汉堡。这完全改变了他的生活，当然，也让他学到了很多新东西。Nana很小的时候就酷爱音乐，中学一毕业，就当了一名DJ。他在很多地方表演，并小有名气。还有，他还在两部德国电影中跑龙套，所以，Nana其实也可以被称为一个演员。后来，他遇到了Toni Cottura，这厮在Fun Factory很有名，参与包装制作了后街男孩（Backstreet Boys）、超级男孩（'N Sync）、Marky Mark。后来，也许是“痛苦”吧，Tony Cottura 和他的搭档离开了Fun Factory并与Nana进行合作。
很多人都误解《Lonely》的那个女声是Nana，其实中间唱RAP的男声才是Nana，才是主角，女声是Sibela。
